ENERGY STAR is a nationally recognized and trusted govenment program providing new home buyers the confidence that they have a better built home.

There are requirements set by the EPA with third-party testing, inspections, and certifications.  An ENERGY STAR home will use less energy for heating, cooling, and overall operations. High-performance HAVC systems, windows, sealing, and insulation keep temperature regulated and allow for better indoor air quality.

Prior to starting the construction of each new home, Vista Verde Builders LLC’s third-party Energy Rater evaluates the floor plans and all energy components of the design to assure compliance to meet or exceed the current program’s performance target.  The Energy Rater uses assessments from the HVAC contractor as well as proposed insulation levels, insulation installation quality, and window performance. During construction, duct leakage is measured, and crack sealing and insulation are inspected. At the final energy inspection, air leakage is measured by putting the house under pressure. The homeowner will receive documents of the test results and a label showing that their home is energy efficient and has earned the ENERGY STAR.
